Pestalozzi is a charity that was originally based in the village of Sedlescombe.
Pestalozzi is a UK-based charity with more than 60 years’ experience of offering life-changing opportunities to young people from underserved communities around the world. Pestalozzi provides educational opportunities for academically able 16-19-year old’s who are community minded, but have limited educational prospects in their home countries.
In recent years our students have come from Nepal, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Belize, Uganda and Tibetan Communities in Exile. These young people have all demonstrated their enthusiasm for helping to make a difference in their communities.
Pestalozzi students are supported for 2 years during which time they learn to welcome difference and embrace diversity. They undertake a broad range of extra-curricular activities, gaining a holistic education focused on the Pestalozzi principles of educating the Head, Heart and Hands.
Pestalozzi scholarships give these young people an opportunity they would not otherwise receive – the chance to develop their potential, become empowered, pursue their dreams and go on to make a difference in the world.
